You just got engaged and started planning your wedding and found the perfect photographer and now it’s time for your engagement session. The stress starts to hit you because you have no idea what to wear, and you want it to be perfect… well I can help!
When you are choosing an outfit to wear to your engagement session there are a couple of things to think about first:
- What vibe do you want?
– When you are thinking about the vibe, think about if you want your session to be more casual or romantic, or sexy and edgy - What location are we shooting at?
– The location plays a big part in picking your outfit because if you are shooting at a gorgeous winery a casual outfit might not be the right selection - What color scheme do we want?
– The color scheme will have to do a lot with the photographer you chose and what goes well with their edits.
Once you have figured out the answer to those 3 questions above it will definitely help you with the next step of finding the right outfit! If you chose a light and airy photographer you may want a lighter color scheme. If you booked someone with a more moody edit then a darker color scheme will better fit. Do not be afraid to ask your photographer “What colors go well with your editing.”
Now that you have the three main questions answered I am sure you have a vision of what you are wanting and maybe even have a few options to choose from.
Here are some rules to follow when choosing the perfect outfit.
- Avoid large patterns
- Make sure you wear something that you feel comfortable and confident in
- Do not match, instead complement each other
To elevate your look and final images follow a few of these tips:
- Get your glam on ( get your nails done and get your hair and makeup done)
- Clean your ring
- Bring makeup for touchups
- Bring an extra pair of comfortable shoes (if you have to walk a lot and are wearing heels bring comfy shoes to walk from location to location)
